Course Description:

Comparison of fitness tests and techniques followed in schools, health/fitness clubs and cardiac rehabilitation programs. Development of fitness assessment proficiencies and certification requirements of various certifying boards. Practical fieldwork will be a major component of this course. Exposure to various apps and fitness software will also be introduced.

 

Course Objectives:

Upon successful completion of the course the student will display proficiency in:

1.     Performing and analyzing pre-participation health screening

2.     Performing measurement of heart rate and blood pressure at rest and during exercise.

3.     Conducting cardiorespiratory (submaximal) assessments

4.     Conducting body composition assessments

5.     Conducting muscular strength assessments

6.     Conducting muscular endurance assessments

7.     Conducting flexibility assessments

8.     Conducting speed assessments

9.  Conducting agility assessments
