Johnny Cooke is the co-founder of Precision Human Performance and has over twenty years of experience in the clinical and exercise profession. Johnny specializes in strength training, rehabilitation, and disease prevention. His academic achievements include a Masters Degree in Exercise Science and a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology. Additionally, Johnny is a Certified Occupational Therapy Asst. (COTA/L), a Master Level Resistance Training Specialist (RTSm), and is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). A dedicated lifelong learner, Johnny’s comprehensive approach is based on valid scientific principles that aim to maximize human potential and longevity.

Michelle is the co-founder of Precision Human Performance and has been a Fitness Professional since 1998. She earned her Bachelors Degree in Kinesiology from Michigan State University and a Masters degree in Kinesiology from A.T Still University.   She holds multiple certifications as a personal trainer and is a Mastery Level Resistance Training Specialist. Additionally, she is the co-founder and lead instructor for the Precision Human Performance BioAcademics program. 

Always a student of science, education is one of Michelle’s passions in the world of exercise. She offers her knowledge, skill and experience to help create and develop true exercise professionals while continuing to see that ”the more one learns, the more one realizes how much he/she does not know!” She believes in the life-long commitment to safe exercise and continuous learning.

Ryan brings 17+ years of fitness experience to PHP who spent 16 years in Fitness Management helping his trainers focus on choosing their correct career path. He broke away from management to focus on his personal development and career which included becoming certified as a Muscle Activation Techniques Specialist. Ryan has also obtained the status of Resistance Training Specialist Mastery Level. He also holds a degree in Exercise Science and Health/Athletic Training along with being a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Ryan has also assisted in the development of education programs in the private clubs he has worked at as well as hosted many MAT and RTS courses. He is the founder and owner of Activation Matters, LLC.

A former two sport collegiate athlete, Ryan has worked with high school to professional athletes and has helped them stay dialed in for their sports and performance. However, Ryan is determined to help everyone from athletes to his current 78 year old that just needs to walk without pain. His focus in each and every session is to enhance a client’s previous workout to thinking forward to their next one so they are progressed through their program with specific intentions for every set and rep performed. He personally believes that every day he needs to get better at specificity for himself so that it will immediately transfer to helping his clients get the most out of their sessions.

Aaron earned his Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and his Personal Training certification through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA-CPT). Aaron is equally dedicated to education as he is training, and at PHP, is quickly evolving into an industry leader.

A self-described lifelong learner, he has completed the Muscle Activation Techniques (MAT) Jumpstart program and the Resistance Training Specialist (RTS) program. Additionally, Aaron is an integral part of the PHP education program and will apply for his Masters degree in the near future. Aaron strives to understand every facet of exercise and its effects on the human body. He consistently applies this knowledge base to every session, helping his clients achieve their goals quickly, safely, and effectively. 

At PHP, Aaron is also the executive assistant to the owners. He is responsible for many of the facets that create and improve the user experience for our clients, members, and trainers at PHP.

BioAcademics Weekend Workshops


Cadaver Anatomy

Participants will spend an 8-hour day in the lab exploring the mechanics of the body with dissected human cadavers. This workshop will lead participants in analyzing current techniques in mobility and strengthening. Key areas the course will look at are muscle attachment sites, muscle fiber direction, fascial attachment sites, fascial fiber direction, joint axes, common anatomical occurrences, and anomalies.

Exercise Mechanics: The Foundation of Exercise

Participants will learn to establish exercise parameters for any client, from the elite level athlete to those with systemmic inflammation or joint pathology. An exploration of fundamental concepts in physics, biomechanics, and anatomy will provide participants with the ability to develop and progress exercise skill and performance.  From seated leg extensions to squats and powerlifts, a new perspective of exercise will be gained.

Skill Acquisition and Performance

This workshop examines motor learning and control as it relates to skill and proficiency of movement. Participants will learn the how to challenge and improve motor skills in all aspects of human performance. From exercise execution to athletic performance and rehabilitation, this course will provide applicable information to make decisions about desired movement outcomes.

Business Development: The Fitness Industry

This workshop explores various aspects of business development and growth in the fitness industry.  Participants will learn how to differentiate between the roles of a technician, manager, and entrepreneur.  Topics will include professionalism, time management, communication, building rapport, client retention, and the business development process.

Exercise & Inflammation

There is a direct relationship between exercise and inflammation. During this workshop, participants will gain a proper understanding of the molecular mechanisms involved in acute and chronic inflammatory responses and its effect on recovery and disease. Participants will also learn how to prescribe exercise strategies to attenuate these responses and avoid overtraining.

Exercise Design and Programming

Participants will learn how to properly construct an individualized exercise program for clients by understanding and applying forces to numerous joints in the body. The lab will focus on the initial creation of a training business and then lead participants to understand the construction of an exercise program.
